Last year you could hear 6ix Toys live in Jazzga. This was probably the most explosive moments of the Soul Confectionery series. This seven piece band definitely know how to move the crowd.

Their first album had a great response in whole Europe and not only, especially from nu-funk/nu-jazz listeners. Everything has started from their debut single – a funk style cover of Voodoo People (orig.by The Prodigy). The album was released in First Word Records label where Toys are put among artists like The Haggis Horns or Kidkanevil. The band has invited great musicians to record the first LP. Names like Connie Lush (5 times voted Best UK Female Vocalist by readers of Blues in Britain for 5 separate years, honoured in the French Blues Trophies awards as European Singer of the Year for 2002., also worked with BB King), Yarah Bravo (together with Dj Vadim is a member of the One Self group releasing their music in Ninja Tune. She is also a part of B.O.B.and the owner of Mothergrain label and recording studio) or Katie Miller (a member of 9 piece band – the Diesler’s experience) says something about their debut release.

In their short but lively career the band has played along such artist like Sting, Ms Dynamite, Alice Russell, The Nextmen, Youngblood Brass Band, The Apples, Dj Vadim and Yarah Bravo, Quantic, Crazy P, Soil & Pimp Sessions, Mr.Scruff and many others. They have performed during The 2008 Isle of Wight Festival and have been a guest of the Craig Charles radio show in BBC.

At the moment the new material for the whole new LP is getting finished. Toys are for sure going to reveal some secrets of their new joints during two concerts in Poland. At the moment you can check the „Do Your Thing” single.

Fredo is one of the members of 6ix Toys. He is going to play an afterparty dj set together with the host dj of the series – Cookie Monster. Fred Ruddick is also a member of No Fakin DJS crew. Together with Kwinzola (a resident dj of the Friends and Family club nights in Fat City club) and Dj Illson – they usually give a great show with 4 turntables accompanied by live musicians and also using samples and drum machines live.

Their dj sets is a mix of Hip Hop, Funk, Soul, Disco, Reggae and other similar genres. They always deliver you the best musical rarities.

No Fakin has released a mixtape „Giva an Example” in Fat City. They have played in festivals like the Garden Festival in Croatia, clubs like Chibuku or Fabric. They have supported Mr.Scruff, Scratch Perverts, Public Enemy, Q bert, Dj Shadow, Steinski and many others.

In their own club nights – No Fakin The Club Night the crew has had guests like Grandmaster Flash, Kool Herc, Charlie Chase, Dj Craze, Dj Nu-mark, Babu, Edan, Madlib, Lootpack, Braintax, Task Forse, Killa Kella, Skinnyman, Saian Supa Crew, Looptroop and the list goes on…

At the moment Fredo is preparing to release an album in Tru Thoughts. This recording-”Squadron Face” is coming up in April 2010. He is also taking part in producing music for the new ATM (A State Of Mind) group album.

The evening is sponsored by CROPP clothing.
